Hello! well, in Spain we have holidays at Christmas time, two months in summer, an Easter( march or april, it´s depends on the year). And also, we have some days that they are National parties.
In Spain the holidays are different, we have holidays at christmas, easter time, carnival, and summer holidays from June to September.
In time of exams (February, June and September) we have some days of holidays too.
The academic year begins at the end of September and it finishes at the end of may. from May to June we have exams time and we are on holidays.

Hi!!! :)
How are you? I'm talking about the holiday in Spain!! We have a lot of time to relaxing ourselves!!!
Next week, we celebrate the festivities about our Education's Faculty!! And we haven't got lesson per three days.
Then, on 6th of December we have other festivity: It's the date that Spanish people aproved the current Constitution in 1978!! And on 8th of December too we have another; The Inmaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.
We share with us Christmas days, easter days too, and we are becaming to celebrate Halloween day too.
But... how much time have you got in summer holiday? We have some, aproximately 3 months!! =) That's really good!!
I don't remember any more. Have you got another one?

Dear Ryan,
You assumed that the Spanish students would know what a university calendar looks like in the U.S. Luckily for you, there´s an American among your "Spanish" correspondents. :P No, it´s not at all like what you´re used to. For instance, our classes don´t start until the end of September/ beginning of October. As far as holidays, we only get two weeks off at Christmas, and a week and a half at Easter.
My classmate Sandra is going to explain how our exams work now.
Anne Marie and Sandra

Here in Spain, we have a lot of free time and a big amount of holydays. As an example some degrees doesn´t have classes on fridays, and of course anyone have a class on saturday and sunday.
About our holidays, we can divide it in three gropus:
Christmas holidays: over 2o days. They start the 20 of december and finish the 7 of january. We have something, than maybe if you were children wanted to have; furthermore Santa Claus, here in Spain we have Los reyes magos, tree "ancient kings" than give us presents. Of course they don´t reallly exist as S.Claus.
Semana Santa/Easter. Over 10 days.
Summer holidays: July and Aout completely and a little part of September. The start of summer holidays often depends on your exams and the end of the holidays also often depends on the exams you have to do.
If you don´t have any exam, you can relax until the first week of october.
We have also some free days due to parties or national days. it can be at the level of all the Country, at the level of a Comunidad, at the level of a Provincia or at the level of a City. All this for different motives mainly parties are relationed with religion or historical dates.
Wait this help you.
Alejandro.
